Nets Notes: Simmons’ Target Date, Odds vs. Boston

Rumors about when Ben Simmons will make his Nets debut continue to swirl and the latest from ESPN indicates that Game 4 is a “realistic target” date for the 3-time All-Star to suit up.

Coach Steve Nash told the local media this week that Simmons has progressed to 4-on-4 activities. The 25-year-old hasn’t been fully cleared yet, though it appears he’s working his way toward that goal.

Based on Ben Simmons’ progress in practices this week – and the anticipation of him further accelerating in the coming days – Game 4 vs. Boston on Monday is looming as a realistic target for his Brooklyn debut, sources tell ESPN.

Durant has been slowed by suburb defensive teams in past playoff runs, though he’s always snuck in a few major offensive performances.
Asked about a timeline for Simmons’ return, Nash hinted that it may come down to Simmons himself declaring himself comfortable enough to play. “There’s no other way than him to say, ‘I’m ready,’” Nash explained (via Nick Friedell of ESPN). “Especially after an absence this long. So whenever he is ready, it’s going to have to be on him to say, ‘I feel comfortable. I feel ready to go. I want to play and I want to contribute.'”
