While James Harden‘s arrival in Philadelphia no doubt brings the Sixers closer to title contention, Bill Simmons (on his latest podcast with Lowe) hears that the former MVP wasn’t Joel Embiid‘s first choice.
The big man reportedly wanted Bradley Beal, feeling that the Wizards star would have been a better fit for his game.
There are rumblings that the Sixers could still attempt to trade for Beal via sign-and-trade this offseason. Such a deal would likely see Tobias Harris exit Philadelphia.
Beal is out for the season in Washington after undergoing wrist surgery while Harden is making his Sixers debut on Friday night.
