The Atlanta Hawks earned their 28th victory of the season. The Hawks defeated the Orlando Magic 130-109 and improve to 28-30 overall on the season. The Hawks’ All-Star starter Trae Young led the way for the Hawks as he has done so many times this season. Young scored 22 points on 5-for-13 shooting from the field. Young knocked down 4-for-5 from behind the three-point line. Young also grabbed three rebounds and dished out six assists in only 25 minutes of play. Young spoke postgame about his and his team’s play. He also spoke on how grateful he was to get some rest this game due to the blowout win.

“Anytime you can get some more rest in this league it’s great because you play so many games,” Young said. “It was great that we were able to finish the game in three quarters, or three and a half quarters. Our bench was great tonight.”

Bogdan Bogdanovic had a huge game off of the bench for the Hawks. Bogdanovic scored 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field. Bogdanovic knocked down 4-for-6 from behind the three-point line. He also dished out six assists in the Hawks win.

These back-to-back wins are big for the Hawks as they fight for a Playoff berth. Every game down this stretch is now vital as they head into the NBA All-Star break. Hawks’ Coach Nate McMillan on his team’s mindset heading into this home stretch of the regular season.

“We understand exactly where we are and what we need to do,” coach Nate McMillan said. “We’re still in the race but we have to be better to finish the season and play ourselves into it.”

The Hawks now head into the All-Star break. They have a week off until their next game. On Thursday, 2/24 the Hawks travel to Chicago to face the Chicago Bulls. Tip-off is at 8 pm Eastern/ 7 pm Central from the United Center.
