The Brooklyn Nets have worked out shooting guard draft prospect R.J. Hampton within the past two weeks, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
The Nets own the No. 19 overall pick and Hampton is projected to fall in the 15-20 range.
“According to sources, Hampton has spent part of the pandemic working out with Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway and his former assistant coach Mike Miller, a standout 3-point shooter in the NBA,” Berman reported.
Hampton is 6-foot-5 and is viewed as someone who’s capable of playing both guard positions in the NBA. He spent last season with the New Zealand Breakers of Australia’s NBL.
The Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks are believed to be among the others with interest in Hampton.
The NBA draft will be held virtually Nov. 18.
