USA Basketball has announced its roster for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris.
LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker were among the 11 NBA players who were initially reported to have made the 2024 roster.
It was previously reported that the organization would leave one roster spot open for competition ahead of July’s training camp and exhibition games in Las Vegas (and there was speculation that a few of the 30 NBA players who were announced as finalists but were not initially selected would get a chance to be part of that competition). Since that report, the news of Kawhi Leonard making the team has circulated, though given Leonard’s past history of health-related concerns (as well as Joel Embiid‘s), USA Basketball may in-fact bring more than the 12 listed players to its July camp.
James and Anthony Davis will be one of three pairs of teammates. The Lakers duo will be joined by Celtics teammates Tatum and Jrue Holiday, who were both previously reported as “locks” for the 2024 team, and Suns teammates Durant and Devin Booker, both of whom won a gold medal with Team USA in the Tokyo Games.
