The Los Angeles Lakers opened their 2024-2025 season against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Los Angeles. There was a little extra buzz in the Crypto.com Arena and anticipation for Bronny James’s NBA debut. In the second quarter, LeBron and Bronny entered the game together. They became the first Father-Son duo to play together in NBA history.

Before the two entered the game LeBron gave his son some words of advice.

“Y’all ready? You see the intensity, right? Just play carefree, though,” father told son on the bench before they checked in, an exchange captured by the TNT cameras and microphones. “Don’t worry about mistakes. Just go out and play hard.”

LeBron told Bronny to enjoy the moment and play hard and in the game’s flow. Postgame LeBron James spoke on this huge moment and what it means to him and his family.

“That moment, us being at the scorer’s table together and checking in together, it’s a moment I’m never going to forget,” LeBron said. “No matter how old I get, no matter how my memory may fade as I get older or whatever, I will never forget that moment.”
