Knicks legend Jeremy Lin is returning to basketball’s biggest stage. ESPN announced that Lin will join its NBA coverage team as a studio analyst through the 2026 Finals between the Knicks and Spurs.
- Lin makes his Finals debut Wednesday on SportsCenter alongside Scott Van Pelt, following Game 1.
- He will also contribute to NBA Today, additional SportsCenter editions, and Hoop Streams throughout the series.
- It isn’t his first time on the set — Lin made a trial appearance on NBA Today back in March.
The timing is poetic. The Knicks haven’t reached the Finals since 1999, and Lin’s 2012 “Linsanity” run — an undrafted Harvard grad becoming the hottest player in the league for a month — remains one of the great feel-good stories in recent NBA history.
Lin described his goal for the role: “How do I bring my previous experience and distill the complexities into something simple and digestible for the fans? And that’s not just the successes.” He won a ring with the Raptors in 2019, but his place in Knicks lore was never in doubt.
Lin earned 23.5 win shares in his career, including 2.7 for the Knicks during his 35 games in New York.
