NBA Commissioner Adam Silver addressed President Trump’s planned attendance at Game 3 of the NBA Finals during a press conference, welcoming him to Madison Square Garden as the Knicks host their first Finals game in 27 years.
“President Trump is very much a New Yorker,” Silver said, via Ben Golliver. “I’m thrilled another New Yorker wants to participate in the enthusiasm and the joy around this Knicks team.”
Should he attend, Trump would become the first sitting President to attend an NBA Finals game. Barack Obama took in Game 2 of the 2019 Finals, but as a former President, and George W. Bush attended in 1999 as the governor of Texas.
